    Again, amazing stuff Brendon.

I don’t know if you already said this or if you’re even checking out the new comments but, who was your first marketing mentor?

I can relate 1000% to the way you got started, went broke and working from your girl’s apartment, I’m at a point VERY similar although I already went all in with a mentor and currently struggling to maintain above debt.

Anyway, thanks again for all these videos, there is something that is changing already in my mindset from watching them.

    Hey Brendon,

I enjoy big time the materials you share with us.

I started my own blog a month ago and I have the fabulous number of 29 folowers, including some of my friends.

I’m setting up a live seminar.
However, the thing I dont get here, is how do we sell when we haven’t made 4 millions in 2 years, and when we havent really got to this point. how can we sell ourselves at the begining?

I see that every of you guru guys, are always underlining your success in the sales videos.

But HOW DID YOU REALLY START when you had nothing to show as achievement? That’s what I’d really like to know.
What did you tell your prospects at that time to make them buy?

I hope I get an answer from you, Brendon. Cause you certainly have the answer.
Thanks in advance, and best of luck with your new launch.

    Hi Brendon,

It’s awesome how you give away all these information and tips. I do wish I could get some of that authority you exude when you are “on platform”. It has made me re-think on what tangent my career should be moving into. I have been in the training and development field for more than 15 years and have been creating programs left and right, but, didn’t manage to maintain a library on them. I do have bits and pieces saved.
I have some questions, though…in training, we do not necessarily reinvent the wheel. Rather we put together ideas from different sources to create programs. How do you position yourself then when your material is derived from different people and different sources? Can you really claim it as yours when ideas originate from others? How not to infringe on others copyrights?
Hope you can share your thoughts on these. Thanks for your generosity and more power!

    Hi Brendon,

Thank you for these amazing videos! I am a professional speaker, certified coach and trainer. Due to circumstance, I find myself with two niches – young leaders and yoga entrepreneurs – teaching similar principles on leadership and business development. I am also being offered coaching and training opportunities with small business CEOs. While I lack the contacts, momentum, and expertise to focus on this niche right now, today, this is ultimately where I see my business will head.

I hear what you’re saying about the importance of choosing a customer base, and would very much like to do that. However, I’m just starting to get some good momentum with the first two and feel they will be my training ground and credibility to be successful in the small business CEO world.

How would you suggest I focus?

Thank you very much for your advice!

I would like to thank you for your amazing training. So many times, we take for granted what we know, and then we hear a message like yours, and it inspires us to actually do something. I too am a lifelong fan of Tony Robbins, but your content, and your message is more actionable to me.

I am the final stages of prelaunch of my products, and am shooting video now. Do you use a teleprompter, or how do you keep your self on track? I have actually built a complete working teleprompter, spent $$ on lighting, backdrops and audio equiptment – but I can’t quite get it to your level – I am awed by your message and the quality of your videos. Any tips?

      Hey Rob,

I usually don’t use a teleprompter, though I encourage a lot of my clients to use one if they’re new to the medium or not super comfortable and talented speaking on the fly.

Personally, I just put a few key words or bullet points on a flip chart next to the camera and run with it.

      Hope that helps!

    Hey Brendon,

Can you tell me how you set up the ebook campaign for organizations?
    I understand the licensing but:

    1. What server does the ebook sit on for downloading? (theirs or yours)
    2. How do you monitor downloads for payment by the organization or is it somehow done automatically with each download?

I love the idea and these steps will help me “seal the deal”.

Thank you for everything you do and are!

    Hi Brendon,

I really like your videos because I found very usefull information that I havent thought about it before although, my objective is different than as trainer or author. I want to get an internship at Coca Cola and for this I have to be distinctive as the brand itself, so I thought that the parts with sending 8 articles and the framework are really great ideas in order to promote my self as the best candidate for the position. However, I am not really sure how exactly I should use the framework and neither the articles. Since I will graduate soon, my knowledge in marketing is not really at an expert level and for sure that Coca Cola has already its experts. So, do you have any suggestions on how to use the articles and the framework for my job application?
Thank you in anticipation for your answer.

Your videos are awesome, and every single one of them have changed my point of view on many things. Thank you so much!

My question for you is, can we do a business in any area, and be highly lucrative? Like I mean, areas of expertise that require a lot of studying, research etc. Let’s say for example, become a guru on selling real estate, and maybe do a coaching business on that.

Is that highly lucrative? Or maybe I have to ask, how do I know if my area of expertise is lucrative or not?

    Thanks a lot!

This is so simple. This is what I always did. I organize, maybe over organize, in other aspects of my life, but make a plan, step A to Z and follow it, adapt to new situations, new plan, follow it, adapt, change plan and follow, etc.
Internet marketing is so new to me I somehow missed the point that I can use a plan. I felt like I was dangling off a cliff looking for the next fingerhold to grab onto.
Your videos tell me that I have SOME knowledge here, I just need to know how to use it.
Someone once said, Ïf someone would just tell me what to do I would follow them and get things done. They were talking about housework, but framework is the same for any topic.

DUDE – QUESTIONS and a REQUEST FOR YOU BELOW!

Love this information – so clear – in just a few minutes I got the 3 to 5 juicy nuggets I can share – usually I have too much info and realize people can only retain 3 to 5 things. Thank you!

I launch my book, “Why Marry A Millionaire? Just Be One!” Subtitle is” “And while you’re at it, change the world!” June 8th – whew! WHO DO YOU RECOMMEND – to create my campaign, copy, emails that convert? I have top endorsements from Harv Eker, Mark V Hansen, Bob Allen, Byron Katie, Kelly Ripa, and am getting one from Arielle Ford, Cynthia Kersey, Ed Begley JR, and I STAR IN A TV SERIES with KELLY RIPA (Regis and Kelly) I coach women inventors how to bring products to HSN. She talked about the book, while introducing me on the show! Would you please donate one ticket for my sweepstake bonus? It’d be awesome!

I am an expert as I brought The Tingler head massager to market and hold patents on it – I went from 10k debt to make millions in a few years. So I have the rags to riches story – and I understand everything it takes to bring a product to market and have a lot of effective pitching, sales and marketing strategies – would make an awesome live event!

My questions are about best, fastest to implement strategies that I can use now to be a #1 NY Times best seller? I have potentially 100 JV partners, email can be sent to millions, open to more! Have a PR campaign, hired a team to reach bloggers, articles, SEO, social media, targeted campaign to FB and Twitter women entrepreneurs, doing free teleseminar/webinars to all my jv partner’s lists with huge value, doing an ask campaign to know what they want, recording calls to create a product, upselling a coaching program which I outsourced so I have 100 coaches, call center, 30 minute free coaching session… what else can I do?

Can I send copy to you for endorsement? Are you open to offer a high ticket item to one lucky winner when I do my bonus sweepstakes? Please! ;0)

How can i inspire corporations to sponsor the marketing of this book that is targeted to women 25 to 54, entrepreneurs, work at home moms?

    Thanks wendy

Great idea with the homework. As I wrote my answers, I realized that I may have had some of the same answers as other experts. So my question is, in order to be a successful expert, don’t we need to somehow differentiate ourselves from others?
    Thanks!
    Cindy

    Reply

    1. Experts Academy’s avatar

Hey Cindy – Absolutely! Yes, differentiating yourself is important, which is why you have to emphasize your story and your framework/system/process/solution clearly to your customers. To an extent, ALL gurus say the same thing: be yourself, dream big, have good habits, be kind to others, serve people. It’s the WAY they communicate, WHAT steps they give, and WHO they are that differentiates them from others. Hope that helps — Brendon

      Reply

    2. Geuka Amusa | humancipate.com’s avatar

Cindy, I’ve thought about the question you ask as well because I also want to differentiate. After spending a lot of time thinking about it, I came to the following realization:

I’ve always been interested in learning things and have realized that the things I’ve come to understand were presented to me several times in different formats prior to me absorbing them. Many of the authors I read write about the same principles, but their choices in the way they communicate this knowledge greatly impacts how prone I am to incorporate it into my being. I may have an “Ah Ha!” moment the sixth time I’ve heard something simply because of the way that sixth person presented it. Then I usually realize that I’ve heard it before and it just didn’t resonate because of the way it was presented or because of the person presenting it.

So the bottom line is that you are a unique being and that means that even if you’re teaching things that many others teach, your message will reach people that other teachers can’t because it’s coming through you.

Brendon, your explanation of frameworks was easy to follow and understand. Thanks for sharing the specific categories of topics to consider. This will make building frameworks lucrative and provide valuable information to others. I thank you, again.
Short critique: (1) Not everyone has people asking them to share information because they have changed jobs, industries or just completed a new level so they are unknown as an expert in that field. For example, they have given out business cards that identify them under an old classification. How do they pass this new level of information to their established or old acquaintances? (2) Pricing is important, how do speakers index themselves?

When else would we get this chance? (HINT: ASK BRENDON YOUR QUESTIONS NOW, PEOPLE!) Brendon, I think you are great for doing this. It plays into your launch BEAUTIFULLY, because you’ve really given your all on this, and it’s crystal clear that you bring a SHIT TON of value.

Hi Noura – I decided to “become an expert” at around 19, right after my car accident. I didn’t think of it in terms of “being an expert” then. I just knew I had to gain skill and mastery as a communicator and a leader if I was ever going to have the influence and impact I wanted to have in helping people start their lives anew. I simply knew I needed skill, and from there I gained expertise in areas through research, interviews, working with clients, etc. I was always looking for patterns in what made people perform at high levels, what made great leaders, and how people created lifestyles they loved. Later, I started studying patterns of highly-paid experts…. and now here we are! Hope that helps— Brendon

Dear Brendon, when I read the stories about becoming a successful consultant I start to think “what knowledge do I have that people can pay me for?”. The answer is “I don’t know!”.
Most people who pay for consulting want to become reach. I am dead broke. 2 months ago filled a bankruptcy. Over 14 months do not have any job and have no source of income. Is it what people want to learn how to come to this point? I was going through two immigrations and one thing I could do is surviving in different situations. Stop! Probably, it is what I can share?

We do have to set our own self interest a side and really look at what would serve our customers interests the most. Understanding their needs can answer many a question on what service or product to provide and the value we need to add to it. Thank you for asking the questions in the Homework. Our answers are potentially showing our expertise.

After looking at this video I see exactly where my framework is. I do still have to refine my step to step process so it is easy to follow and doable then I have to create the products. That is the area where I will need some more guidance. Will this training series include these?

The framework information has provided an illuminating reveal on my path to creating a process of serving my community as a business alliance facilitator. I have hundreds of files in electronic and physical data on my subject, but I don’t have a clear, concise framework to transfer my message. I’m still struggling with a laser targeted, well defined group or a wide “one-size-fits-all” approach. I believe every business owner needs help in the marketing of their services, its a problem of too much opportunity.

My question is this; how were you able to synthesize your first message into a physical framework/product that you could provide to your target market. Did you do all this on your own? Did you get help with the design and organization of the material? And how did you determine you ideal customer would accept your message as something they needed and were able to see the inherent value?

    Thanks!

Great question Todd. I like to synthesize all of my information in terms of TACTICAL steps for the consumer to “do,” and I often break it down into two “phases.” The Expert Blueprint in this video is a GREAT example of just that. So think of what steps your customer needs to take (or what things they need to think of, master, etc) and try to build a framework around that. I create all my own frameworks, design all my stuff. It just comes with time. As far as determining my ideal customer, I just think of who I want to serve, find out what they want, do some research and best practice, create a framework, and boldly put something out there. That’s how it always seems to begin. Hope that helps! — Brendon

How amazing that medical science and global commercial interest with all of their resources and capital have yet to discover a breakthrough, but a guy peddling an infoproduct has figured it all out just by talking to a bunch of healing hands and herb hawking charlatans…and for just $197.97 we too can discover the ancient secret cure! It would be hilarious if it wasn’t for the fact that so many desperate people will most likely be taken in by such claptrap.

    Brendon,

You are INSANELY awesome! I had never heard your name until this video series because I’m new to internet marketing and the whole “create your own product” thing.

    Here’s my question:

What if you’re in a JO.B. making just enough money to provide a decent life style for your family…and you’ve actually done a few speaking engagements (probably about 20-25) for various functions…and you have so much to offer the world in terms of encouragement, motivation, sales related material (because you’re one of the top in the world at what you do)…but you don’t know where to start OR you’re afraid of breaking out from your 19 years of dedication with the same company?

Where do you start? A book? Doing speaking engagements when possible and recording it for info products? Or am I even close?

And no I could never say these bragadocious things about myself…lol! It’s my husband. He is one of the most brilliant, awesome guys I’ve ever known (our 19th anniversary is TODAY!). I am in the process of creating my own info product, but as excited as I am about my product, HE is the one that I have always know is worth SO much more than a couple hundred thousand a year.

People are amazed at some of the “stuff” that comes out of him when he gets on a roll (teaching them how to do better in their jobs, as a father, etc. I’ve seen it for years, and I don’t think he really gets it…his true potential. But I know it has to be his decision.

Is it possible to begin “something” and still continue to work your J.O.B.?
I can’t even imagine if he could sit down for a couple of hours with someone like you and say, “Tell me what to do!”

Thanks for your teaching style, for understanding the beautiful principle of “Give and it shall be given unto you.”

As I said, you are INSANELY awesome and I just love you!

Finally someone who understands that true engagement comes with the listener understanding how they can implement. You focus on success rather than emotion. The point of all this is “I got success” rather than “You got my money”. You remind us that having tools doesn’t make you a builder. Having the blueprints doesn’t make you a builder. Having building materials doesn’t make you a builder. You have to get out of bed and have the confidence to go build something. If you don’t feel “I can do”, you can’t do. You uniquely focus on feeling the sensibility of your blueprint to build success. When will the next video be out?

I have learned a thing or two in my 63 years through observation and believe I have a good message – which is, no matter the issue, one can indeed succeed if one takes the time to learn, seek, and implement the answers by trusting that inner voice (as success means different things to different people).

You have helped crystalized my thoughts in a more orderly fashion and for that I am most appreciative. I know I have much thinking and marketing work still ahead of me but – thank you for the direction!! I have synthesized and systemetized meta-cognitive knowledge and performance psychology into a very powerful approach. While I have got an international brand to promote the framework (a book: Passing Exams for Dummies), the material is not selling to students in any significant way. What steps would you say I am missing? Understanding their buying behaviour – perhaps? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi Brendon,

I received your shared video firstly from Brain Tracy’s newsletter then I loved each clip very much. As a master trainer, I am optimizing a functionalist coaching program to help about 100 operational colleagues. About 30 coaches are expecting to receive my better-designed coaching materials, tools and aids. I found the most challenging part is to finding their passion on this coaching since it is not related to their incentive scheme and work objectives directly (maybe my wrong assumption that business people is always motivated by money and reward). Now I regnized that we need to dig out more on their daily operation behavior and working pattern so as to define their “key value levers” without this money scheme (Senior manager are always hating to increase the coaching budget). The time pressure itself has negative impact from the very beginning of our design as well. How to manage the time seems to be linked with re-prioritize their “key value” system of operation. I am quite sure your “S3″ framework is also a great drive for me to take right action and work a solution out finally.

Thanks a lot for your wonderful sharing!

Hey David — not everyone has a “woe” in the woe to win story formula. (Just as not everyone went from rags to riches but rather plain clothes to coiture). So, start with where you are. Just describe a sense, if true, that something more was out there and you decided to go get it. Then talk about how you went about that, what results you got, and what results/benefits you’re helping others to get. That’s the beginning of all positioning. Hope that helps! — Brendon

    Hi Brendon,

I thought I’d share my “right off the top of my head” answers to your “homework exercise” questions here on your blog, and I think I’ll turn each of these basic outlines into an article on my blog later, as well.

Who knows? Maybe they will help someone here, provide them with more ideas for their own “framework,” or just inspire someone to succeed.

What are your top 3 to 5 tips for succeeding in:

    - life in general?

    1. Be yourself
    2. Be honest
    3. Do unto others as you’d like others to do for you

    - relationships?

    1. Be honest
    2. Communicate
    3. Share the load
    4. Compromise

    - leading others?

    1. Don’t expect/ask others to do anything you wouldn’t do yourself
    2. Do things WITH your group instead of setting yourself up as a “all watch and no do” leader
    3. Reward good works
    4. Pay attention/listen to others
    5. Be honest
    6. Remember: No one can lead without followers, so followers are VERY important

    - business?

    1. Be honest
    2. Offer value
    3. Treat customers well
    4. Sell something people want to buy
    5. Sell a lot of it

    - marketing?

    1. Be able to reach a significant number of prospective buyers
    2. offer but don’t PUSH people to buy
    3. Show the good and bad of a product and let the BUYER decide
    4. Market products with REAL value

    - sales?

    1. Be compassionate to your buyer’s situation
    2. Know your product cold
    3. Know your buyer’s wants/needs/desires that match the product you’re offering
    4. Let the BUYER make the decision to buy
    5. Don’t make buyers feel they were PUSHED to make a purchase — they’ll never buy from you again

    - your industry?

    1. Always be writing
    2. Actually submit/sell your work
    3. Follow proven blueprints and guidelines
    4. Know how to market your work
    5. Talk with readers to know what they want you to write

    - in school?

    1. Get plenty of sleep
    2. Pay attention to lectures
    3. Read lesson material
    4. Do lessons/exercises

    - at health and fitness?

    1. Let your body lead you – it knows what it needs
    2. Actually pay attention to your body – it’s the “natural” you and nothing about it is “shameful, ugly, or wrong.”
    3. Don’t “overdo” – a little each day is plenty
    4. Don’t give up
    5. Synthetic pills and medicines aren’t the only way to change/heal/grow

    - at finding your purpose?

    1. Realize that your purpose isn’t something you can do NOW and be done with – it is accomplished through living every single day of your life
    2. Pay attention to what you LOVE to do and what you’re GOOD at already
    3. Your purpose is something you achieve “by example” – you lead by example through living your day to day life

    - at living a good life?

    1. Be honest and live with integrity
    2. Lead by example
    3. Think for yourself
    4. Don’t be afraid to be YOU
    5. Embrace your dreams and go for them

    Thanks for extending the exercise.

You bet Seth. Before I had my full woe-to-win story I was simply positioning myself based on my UNIQUE LIFE STORY. For me, that was my car accident and the lessons I l learned from it. Many of my clients who are just starting out will position around a “turning point” story from their past and then as they grow more expertise, experience and successes they’ll “stack” those onto the original positioning, or in some cases grow beyond the original positioning. My philosophy is that we ALL have unique experiences that can be easily turned into teachable lessons. Hope that helps. More soon— Brendon

    Brendan…another great training.

My question to you is: I’m trying to position myself as an expert in the field of Chinese medicine for post pregnancy women’s health and beauty…but my English is not very good. (I am from China)

How can I be seen as the expert if I’m making errors in my English as I explain my systems and frameworks?

    Your advice is greatly appreciated.

    Dr. Pauline Bao

You can watch a few of my ‘Post Pregnancy Acupressure Videos’ to see how ‘unexpert’ I sound because of my English language skills.

Hi Dr Pauline — I’d simply recommend working with an interpreter and a writer to help deal with the language barrier. If the framework is solid and it’s presented clearly…you’re on your way! — Brendon

I have been creating a nationwide mentorship program for training High School kids in the success principles, and helping them get scholarships for college. I have an initial framework that has allowed us to have over 2200 students sign up this year, and now need to create that next piece. This summer we will have over 40,000 in the program. What I got from what you said is really asking those questions of what they want, and need. I have been going from the perspective of what I think they want, instead of really asking them. The framework I am now putting together is how to take them from the free mentorship program to helping them move into our internship program. Meaning what steps are needed to get them from one program to the next with ease. Thanks for the video.

    Thanks Brendon
This is extremely helpful. I have traveled over the past 2 years around the world interviewing and meeting the greatest experts in regards to holistic natural cancer healing and have collected over 4 terrabite of footage from clinics, interviews and treatment options. Just a few weeks ago I have now started to accumulate all this information into a documentary and a membership site.

As I have learned so much in this time it’s certainly clear to say that I have become an expert in this field. Now it’s just a matter of setting up some training videos and to find joint venture partners to teach people that cancer is not a threat, but a message we should listen to.

These videos came just in the perfect time.

Awesome Marcus! Congrats on all your accomplishments and the efforts of research before teaching. (Novel thought for many!). You’ve interviewed, you’ve studied. Now it’s time to “synthesize, systemize and sell.” Keep at it — Brendon
